5 Things I Did Last Week as a Massage Therapist
5 Things I Did Last Week as a Massage Therapist 💆♂️✨
1️⃣ Helped a client with chronic back pain – Used Thai massage, neuromuscular reeducation and myofascial release to ease discomfort while addressing posture myths. Instead of chasing a “perfect posture,” we focused on comfortable, pain-relieving movement and positions that support healing. Pain isn’t about how you sit and stand but how long you stay in one position. Movement is key!
2️⃣ Worked with runners preparing for the LA Marathon – Provided maintenance sports massage to support training by improving mobility, reducing soreness, and boosting recovery for peak performance on race day. 🏃♂️💆♂️
3️⃣ Educated clients about stress and posture – Many people feel guilty about their posture, thinking they need to “fix” it. I reframed posture as dynamic, not static—it’s about regular movement, not perfect positioning. We also explored how stress can contribute to tension and how massage helps break that cycle.
4️⃣ Helped a client with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome from mold exposure – Focused on gentle touch, movement, and desensitization techniques to help reduce pain and regain confidence in using her shoulder and hand with ease. Seeing her move more freely and trust her body again was a big win!
5️⃣ Prepped for an exciting upcoming event! – I’m honored to be a massage instructor at the Champion-Style Ultimate Healing Massage Masterclass, featuring nine massage champions, sponsored by Nuad Thai and Spa Association of America (NTSAA).
